New Counsel of Wenger Plattner
We are pleased to inform you that Dr. Carlo Conti, attorney at law, became a Counsel of our law firm as at 1. August 2014.
Carlo Conti, born in 1954, studied and obtained a J.D. in Basel (1985). He was admitted to the bar in 1982 and is a lecturer in health law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Basel.
Carlo Conti worked in senior positions for Roche for 16 years, both in the legal department and in public affairs. In 2000, he was elected to the Cantonal Government of Basel-Stadt, and was head of the health department until July 2014. Carlo Conti was also the President of the Swiss Conference of the Cantonal Ministers of Public Health (GDK) and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SwissDRG AG.
Carlo Conti has extensive professional experience and in-depth knowledge of all areas of health law and life sciences as well as administrative law, which is where his main activities will lie. He has seats on the boards of directors of several companies. His appointments include serving as Vice-Chairman of Swissmedic, the Swiss agency for therapeutic products. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of RehaClinic AG and of the University Children’s Hospital of both Basel (UKBB). He is regularly invited to speak at specialist conferences and events on the topics of health policy and health legislation.
