Competition

Our practice group advises and represents companies throughout Switzerland on all issues relating to competition and cartels.

Growing importance of competition law

National and international competition issues are becoming increasingly important not just for large companies, but also for SMEs in particular.

We specifically advise on the following issues which are of key importance in day-to-day operations: distribution agreements and systems, franchising agreements, general terms and conditions of business and general terms and conditions for the supply of goods and services.

We also advise and act for companies with regard to planned mergers (merger control).

Compliance and training

Procedures involving competition authorities are time-consuming and costly. The penalties for breaching competition law can be steep.

We systematically review our clients’ contracts and practices to ensure that they comply with competition law. We also organise training for company employees at all levels.

Assistance with official investigations (dawn raids)

We prepare manuals and rules of conduct for our clients and maintain on-call teams. We also conduct training on dawn raids.

Representation

In all of these areas of activity, we represent clients before courts and the authorities, such as the Competition Commission. Providing advice at an early stage enables us to identify potential conflicts, helping clients to avoid litigation.
