Born in 1961, Dr. Beat Stalder studied Jurisprudence at the University of Berne and was admitted as an advocate at the Berne Bar in 1988. In 1992, he gained his doctorate with a thesis on administrative law.

From 1991 to 2001, Beat Stalder worked as a lawyer with, and was a partner in, a legal firm in Berne specialising in administrative law. From 2001 to 2011, he was a judge at the Administrative Court of the Canton of Berne, and was in charge of its administrative law division from 2007 to 2009.

Beat Stalder is the author and joint editor of numerous publications on agricultural land law and on urban planning and construction law. He has been a lecturer in urban planning and construction law and eminent domain at the University of Berne since 2004.

In his practice, Beat Stalder specialises in constitutional and administrative law, planning law, construction law, the law relating to real estate and eminent domain and agricultural land law. He advises clients in German, English and French.

We are pleased to inform you that Maurice Courvoisier, Dr. iur., LL.M.,
attorney at law, will become a partner of our law firm as at 1 January 2012.

Maurice Courvoisier, born in 1970, studied in Basel. After his engagement as an academic assistant for private law at the University of Basel, he was awarded a Master of aws (LL.M.) in New York (Columbia University) in 1998. In 2000 he was admitted to the bar in Switzerland and in 2001 to the bar in New York. Since 2001 he has been working as a commercial attorney, as of 2007 with our firm. 2002 he gained his doctorate in comparative law.

Maurice Courvoisier's main practice area is litigation and arbitration in all areas of commercial law and various industries (including pharma, machine and plant construction, joint ventures as well as logistics), both as a party representative and as arbitrator. His areas of activity also include intellectual property law, art law and contract law. He advises clients in German, English,French and Italian.
