WENGER PLATTNER employs lawyers in all areas of commercial law, as well as tax advisors. We incorporate them thoroughly into the business where they operate within
one or more of our practice teams.
Our teams work on an
interdisciplinary basis across our offices. As a result of our presence at three locations we are able to exploit the advantages of a major practice without having to take on board its disadvantages (such as e.g. anonymity or lack of flexibility). A major part of our work is
foreign related.
We expect our
lawyers to possess excellent legal knowledge and skills as well as to be capable of expressing themselves confidently both verbally and in writing. We attach great importance to precision, independence, creativity and clear social skills.
As part of our young tax consultancy team,
tax experts and advisors with higher than average qualifications (incl. basic training in law or management/business) have the exciting opportunity to help shape the structure and development of this service in close cooperation with lawyers, bookkeeping and accounting experts.
We accord high priority to continuous
education and further training. Where appropriate we provide support for personnel in gaining various additional qualifications, for example to become a notary, certified specialist lawyer, tax expert or real estate trustee.
Our
recruitment policy is orientated towards the long term, the aim being to promote corresponding suitable lawyers and tax advisors to senior positions after they have gained a number of years experience and, once they have proven themselves, to subsequently make them partners in our law firm.
WENGER PLATTNER offers
qualified legal experts (lic. iur./Dr. iur. or MLaw) the opportunity to take a practical training with a view to passing the bar exam. In Basel, the practical training normally takes nine months. In Zürich and Bern, traineeships are normally offered for a twelve month period. As an intern or trainee you will receive targeted and practical-based training from us and preparation for the bar exam.
Depending upon location and availability, the opportunity is offered to
prospective legal experts during lecture-free periods to take a brief practical course lasting one week or more and in this way to gain an initial insight into the everyday working life of the lawyers.
WENGER PLATTNER offers a range of posts in the administrative area: As a
lawyer’s assistant you will provide support for our lawyers in dealing with correspondence, organising appointments and numerous other tasks. Our
reception teams create a welcoming and helpful atmosphere at our three offices in Basel, Zürich and Bern. Other core areas of our administration are
bookkeeping and IT as well as administrative support for major clients at our
Service Center.
In addition, WENGER PLATTNER employs and provides support for
commercial trainees at all its offices.
